To be eligible an applicant must:
1. Have sucessfully completed a course of formal instruction in polygraph instrumentation, theory and applied techniques at a school that is fully recognized by the NJP, Inc., or the American Polygraph Association (APA) or the regulatory board for the State of New Jersey at the time of the applicant's attendance at that school;
2. Demonstrate proficiency in conducting polygraph examinations to the satisfaction of the Membership Committe by review of previously conducted polygraph examinations and/or by written examination;
3. The applicant must voluntarily submit to and successfully pass a personal polygraph examination conducted by an examiner appointed by the President of the NJP. The examination shall inquire into the applicant's honesty, integrity, loyalty and morality.
